MS Book and Mineral Company  Gemstone Faceting Preforms No high-grading please when purchasing lot quantities of faceting preforms. You must return an entire single lot for a refund.  This applys to orders with multiple items of the same kind in one plastic bag.   This does not apply when purchasing single stones. I have cut these preforms from rough intending to facet flawless gemstones.  Photographs below show the shapes and sizes available.  I do not intend to cut any additional preforms unless you place a large order.  These are cut by hand on a wet carbide wheel.  Fingers are a mess when finished but they eventually heal from all the grinding cuts.  The prices indicated vary with the size (weight) of the preform and the quality of the material it is cut from. Although you pay more per carat for a preform, you are more likely to obtain a flawless gem.  And you do not have the 50 to 60% loss of material to deal with when you preform the rough.
