Rhodonite, Sulfides, and white Quartz

Mineral  # 5000

Sunnyside Mine, Eureka,
San Juan County, Colorado

4 x 6 x 9 cm

$ 70

Mineral # 5000 is a single piece of ore that is cut on both sides with a diamond saw
to expose the rhodonite, small stripes of sulfides, a little quartz, and if you hold
the specimen during good lighting, you will see some bright silver dots on both
sides which are likely real silver

Rhodonite, Sulphides, and white Quartz

Mineral # 5000

This view is on the bottom of the specimen which has perhaps the best row of sulfides on this specimen.
I am using "top and bottom" only for the reason that the "top" has a greater surface area.

Rhodonite, Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral # 5000

This is a view at an angle of the entire bottom of the of the specimen.
Note that most of these specimens have a black external surface.  That is the color of weathered
manganese sulfides

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold, Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5001

Sunnyside Mine, Eureka,
San Juan County, Colorado

4.5 x 5 x 5 cm

$ 40

This is another single specimen.  It has only one cut, smooth surface.  All other sides
were left as natural.

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold,  Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5001

This is the close-up view of the one cut surface showing the sulfides.
You can see it 4x closer by clicking on the picture.

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold,  Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5001

This is a side view of this # 5001 specimen.  The cut surface shows on the left side.
Use the cut surface to display the specimen.  The top side is natural and is mainly bright rink rhodonite
with a deposit of what looks like mainly silver.  The rhodonite on the top of the piece continues halfway down
the front of the specimen (not shown here).

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold,  Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5002

Mineral # 5502 is actually two specimens.

small section - 3 x 4.5 x 7 cm
main part - 4 x 4 x 8.5 cm

$ 160

When preparing these specimens I try to preserve as much of the material as possible.
The main portion of the specimen was sliced smooth on the top and bottom sides which
 exposed the different ore patterns about 1 inch apart.

This view is the top of the main specimen.

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold,  Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5002

This view is a close up of the view above.

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold,  Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5002

This view is the underside of the main block of this specimen
This cut was made for display purposes and to exposed a different ore pattern
which exposed some red which is probably iron oxide (hematite).
Click on the specimen to view a superb pattern of pyrite / gold.

Rhodonite, Pyrite / Gold,  Quartz, with Sulphides

Mineral  # 5002

This view is the separate piece of ore that was saved when the bottom cut was made.
You will enjoy holding this piece onto the main block to see if it fits.  Why does it not fit perfectly?
The saw blade is about 2 mm wide so there is a little gap where is was ground away.

0.8 x 5 x 8 cm

$  40
