I, Melvin Schmidt, owner of MS Book and Mineral Company, have been collecting this mine information for almost 40 years.  I hope you are interested in collecting mining history information also. You may have had family members who worked at or owned a mine that you would like to have more information about. While a whole book about a mine is great, I prefer data (details) without pages of chatter. As you can tell, this is not a typical catalog for this website.  I am not selling anything here.  Well, maybe, but only sometimes.  This part of my website is to locate all the history, geology, and mining details from the early American West. 	Here is a list of mines for which I have some information (data).  One feature I have not mentioned yet will come a little later.  That is collecting ore samples from all these mines. Please note:  This is new.  I estimate it will take me months of typing just to complete this page with all the mine information I have found.  I promised you on the news link on the home page of this website to have this mine claim section started before the end of 2025.  So here we go......I have other book and mineral obligations to attend to at the same time. Listings below are by state, county and mine.  I can't list everything I have for these mines, because this page would be more than a 10,000 pages long.   Find a mine listed here (or several mines) for which you are interested in finding more information.  Send me an email with your name asking for what information you would like about that mine, owner, date, number and names of claims, etc.  I will respond asap with the information if I have it.  I will use the 30 minute rule below. I don't need your physical address unless you decide to purchase a book or something. If you don't find a mine on the list below that you are interested in, send me an email with your name and the mine name, the county and state to the email above and what information you would like to have for that mine.  I will try to find some information on your mine for 30 minutes for free.  If I find enough information to make it worth my time to continue, I will contact you with what I am finding and what the charge for additional work would be to continue the search.  Whenever possible, if I find some good information on the internet, I will give you an internet address where you can get that information for free.  Maybe we can help each other also.  You may have a claim map or some other item that you would swap for my time.  We aren't doing this to get rich, just to end up learning more history, geology and/or mineralogy.  What we find should be readable.  I have found claim information in some Arizona claim paperwork that has been photocopied so many times that it is not readable.  Some of these are import though and have taken me 2 hours to over write a single page so it can be re-typed.
